CFLs are great for the environment - but only if they're properly disposed of once they kick the bucket. Now Home Depot is taking back CFLs at all of their stores. A huge breakthrough, since finding a place to drop off old bulbs (and the mercury inside) has been tricky. Previously, IKEA was the only nationwide retailer with a take-back program.
Of course, if you don't have a Home Depot or IKEA nearby, there's always Earth911.org, which will help you find drop-offs in your area.
Clothing of the American Mind has launched 2 Unscrew America T-shirts on 100% organic cotton. The most stylish organic light bulb-based clothing ever attempted.
If we all switch out our old lightbulbs with energy-efficient CFLs and LEDs, ridiculously good things will happen.
